The Volmar Story In January of 1971, Joe Volmar opened the family’s original kitchen business. Eventually the business expanded to accommodate both bathrooms and kitchens, and Joe’s four sons decided to join him in the company. By 1985, Joe was enjoying semi-retirement with his sons running the company as he had programmed them to do. For six years, the boys maintained that excellent customer service their father had instilled in the business, until 1991, when the family made the decision to sell the company to outside interests. All four boys had two-year employment contracts as a stipulation in the sale. After two years Eric left, followed six months later by Kurt, and another six months later Mark left as well. All were unhappy with the negative image the new owners were beginning to shed on the company, with numerous customer complaints resulting in a poor record with and eventually expulsion from the Better Business Bureau. The last brother, Paul, stayed for five years after the sale of the company, then opened Toledo Bath & Kitchen. Kurt then merged the home improvement business he’d started with Paul’s new bath and kitchen company, and soon thereafter changed the company name to reflect the corporate franchise of ReBath, LLC. Before long Eric’s son Joey joined the company to make three generations of the Volmar family in the business. Toledo ReBath and Kitchen has proudly remained in the Top 15 Rebath dealers in the country in terms of volume and quality. Kurt and Paul have built up this company based on the business ethics and values instilled in them from their father and will continue to emphasize the family atmosphere and years of good reputation, delivering a higher standard product to the client in a timely, professional manner.
