The Volmar Family Story
In January of 1971, Joe Volmar opened the family’s original kitchen business. Eventually the business expanded to accommodate both bathrooms and kitchens, & Joes’ four sons, Mark, Paul, Eric & Kurt, decided to join him in his venture. By 1985 Joe was enjoying semi-retirement leaving his sons to run the company that was built for the family. For six years the boys maintained the excellent customer service their father had instilled in the business, until 1991. The family decided to sell the company to outside interests. The family was unhappy with the negative image the new owners were beginning to shed on the company, which still carried the Volmar name. Numerous customer complaints under the new owners eventually led to expulsion from the Better Business Bureau.
Five years after the sale of the company Paul decided to open Toledo Bath & Kitchen, LLC. Kurt merged his home improvement business he started with Paul to join forces of a family operated company. Shortly after starting the company the Volmar brothers decided to become the local ReBath dealer for S.E. Michigan and N.W. Ohio, which is now reflected in the company name.
As years have passed the Volmars have dealt with the loss of family members involved with the company, whether by death or by choice. However, Eric’s son Joey joined the company becoming the third generation of the Volmars involved in the business.
Toledo ReBath and Kitchen, LLC has proudly remained in the top 10 ReBath dealers in the country in terms of volume & quality. Kurt has continued to build the company based on the business ethics & values instilled in him from his father. He plans to continue to emphasize the family values and continue the years of good reputation, delivering a higher standard product and service in a timely, professional manner that will continue on to our third Volmar generation.
